We're Never Lost if We Can Find Each Other

Driving the Access bus
From Sue B.
Still working driving an Access Bus for Kitsap Transit. Anxious everyday and worried. But the people I help have no other way to get to where they need to go. By the end of each day I'm thanking God for letting me help. Keeping me healthy riding that bus with me. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The Lord's Prayer
Have you thought to use the 20 seconds we should be using to fully wash our hands as a chance to pray The Lord’s Prayer? This realization changed the whole ritual for Kara K. Root. Read about it HERE.

Teachers!!!
From Deanna G.:
We already know that teachers are just amazing people, but this time of forced separation from the kids they love so much has brought out some serious creativity from these fine folks. Last week, my bit of Manna (and maybe Daisy’s too) came with a special delivery from her Social Studies teacher. Miss Bender had asked kids online what genre of books they’d like to receive, then spent the afternoon making deliveries from her classroom library.
Anyone curious what Daisy requested?
Books about Diversity! Man, I love that kid.

Here's our choir anthem from March 8th. Although physically separated we are all still in our Father's house!
Lent in a Bag
From Deanna G.:
At our first Base Camp gathering on March 8th we filled paper sacks with items to use in prayer this Lenten season, along with prompts and Scripture readings. While Mary F. was excited about the bag of items for her own personal prayer time, she decided instead to send the items to her grandkids for them to use.
I hope they were cheered by the arrival of their “Lent in a Bag” and they are using the items to connect with God. Thanks for being Manna for your family, Mary!
Collecting Trash
From Deanna G.
We have been encouraged by the stories around the world of the healing that is happening to our earth as people isolate and reduce their footprint. Sometimes it is difficult to separate truth from fiction in these stories, but it feels good to know our self-isolation might be doing more than just keeping other humans healthy, maybe it is helping our planet breathe better too. Doing our part to care for our little corner of the world, Daisy, Dani, and Darin took a walk through our new neighborhood and filled four trash bags with litter and recycling. Dani has been inspired to help other kids do the same and is working to launch a webpage where people can submit how many trash bags they have filled. My heart is warmed seeing so many ways people are caring for each other, and our planet, during this difficult season.
If you’d like to collect a bag of trash and add to the count, go here: http://daringemmer.com/count-the-bags/
Giving and Getting Manna
From Edie E.
I liked thinking about the concept of receiving and giving manna. I was given manna of various degrees by friends helping with shopping, gardening projects. A friend showed up with a flower gift and we were able to have a deck visit - lovely manna there. I was able to give manna as we rounded at the hospital with a cart called "Spirit Lifter" and encourage medical staff of this journey. I now am provided for with 2 weeks off and fully paid. Manna with dessert!
Playing music makes me a manna giver - I always say " music goes to where it is needed most" just like the manna in the desert.
Here is a beautiful bit of manna from Edie and her harp.
School Buses

Coffee Oasis Connection
From Kathy K.
I got a really nice call from Cody at Coffee Oasis this morning personally thanking me for a donation and asking me if I had any questions. They are open for takeout and to sell bags of coffee! It touched me that we were both reaching out during this time - a manna exchange.
Daily Bread & Journaling
From Betsy K.
By the time we heard the decision to close school until April 27th, I was already riddled with anxiety about the uncertainty ahead. Now I was going to have to put my own agenda aside and teach my kids for the next six weeks. I was so nervous and worried that I was pacing around the room. Then I felt a familiar tug. A tug to sit down, to write and to pray. I used to have a daily ritual of waking early, journaling, reading the Bible and praying, and I had somehow fallen out of the habit. I hadn't done it in a while.
When I journal, I am writing a big, long worry prayer to God. After I sat down that night and wrote out all of my concerns, those fears seemed smaller, and more manageable, because they fit onto the pages of a journal, and were not reeling around in my mind, gaining weight and velocity. I had given them up to God, at least for the moment. And I felt lighter.
So, since that day, I have woken up early every morning, read the day's essay in the Daily Bread book, and written down not only my worries and fears, but what I am grateful for. Then I open the Bible to the day's scripture passage from Daily Bread and read for a while. This takes me only about 30 minutes, and I am grounded and ready for the day. Ready to be steady, strong and present for my kids. Totally worth it, and totally necessary for my survival right now. God is feeding my soul, so that I can feed my family.
Sidewalk Art
When Pastor Susie arrived at church March 22, she discovered the sidewalk by the Little Pantry lovingly decorated by some creative church neighbors. The encouraging messages and bright colors were definitely a bit of manna on that morning.

God's Handiwork
Note from Deanna: I love how many of us are finding manna in God’s good creation right now. This note was sent to me last week.
From Julia N.
My manna for today is seeing God’s handiwork. This morning off my back deck, He showed me the end of winter. This afternoon, the beginning of spring. The photos were taken from (almost) the same location today (Thursday, March 19) and are unedited. God is an awesome artist!
Being Outside

Online Concert
From Peg P.
A friend posted about an online concert by Ken Medema. It was so good to tune in and hear the blessings he provided to all of us.
Daffodils
From Lisa B:
Daffodils always make me smile and feel good to see as I know that spring is here. God’s creations continue to spring forth and give us bright spots. May God continue to renew us in new ways.
It Is Well
Deanna here, this song was my bit of manna today. God is still teaching me how to say “it is well with my soul.” Audrey Assad’s voice and arrangement of this timeless hymn help.
