West Sound Parent life
West Sound Parent Life is a partnership between, Westsound Youth For Christ, and Summit Avenue Presbyterian. West Sound Parent LIfe utilizes education and mentoring to promote positive life change, resulting in healthier families to help break the cycle of teenage pregnancy.
Mondays 5:30 - 7:30 pm
West Sound Parent LIfe is fun, educational, and helps young moms build relationships with women who love them. We also intentionally focus on community building during our group times allowing for natural support systems to form.
Mentoring: We match one experienced parent with one of our young parents. As an authentic relationship develops, we earn the right to speak into their life. Here is where we often see the most significant life changes happen, including the transformation that comes through a relationship with Jesus.
MoMShop: Our parents have the opportunity to earn Baby Bucks through positive life-improving activities such as attending group, meeting with their mentor, attending school consistently, etc. Our parents can then spend these Baby Bucks in our MoMShhop that is filled with baby equipment and supplies.
What is the need?
In Kitsap County, 1 in every 22 girls ages 15 - 19 will get pregnant this year. Of the babies born to teen parents, 83% will end up becoming a teen parent themselves unless something is done.
YFC and West Sound Parent LIfe are standing in the gap with these expecting and parenting teens. We believe the cycle can be changed...we believe these lives can be transformed. Will you join us in sharing God's love with these young people?
