PANCAKES & PREPAREDNESS Saturday, October 3 9 am - noon Fellowship Hall
On Saturday, August 1, my sister-in-law and her husband had less than an hour to throw away a few things and leave their home as a terrible fire threatened their Spokane neighborhood. They were not able to return to their home for nearly a week; others had no home to return to.
Many of us watched those stories and wondered what we would do if something like that happened to us. I admit that when I read about fires or earthquakes or storms, I'll get a spark of motivation to think about where my passport and some bandaids are. But that's often as far as it goes. I settle back into the status quo and don't make a plan.

On Saturday, October 3, Summit Outreach Services is partnering with the Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management to host a free Emergency Preparedness workshop in our Fellowship Hall.

10:00 am hands-on workshop presented by Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management
There will be free giveaways like flashlights, first aid kits and gift cards, plus drawings for prizes like a fireproof document box and a NOAA weather radio.
This is a community event and we hope you will help us get the word out! We'll be handing out paper flyers on Sunday for people to take with them and share with friends or post on bulletin boards at your favorite coffee shop, auto repair lobby, library, etc.
